My first ever blog post

I've been on facebook for a while. I grudgingly joined to keep in contact with some family and friends when we moved. Slowly, it became a high school reunion, which quickly led to me learning how to set privacy levels. heh...

Today, two of my FB friends are talking about abandoning their FB accounts. They are frustrated by the pure drivel and apathetic nature of FB. I concur, but feel that "we" - yes the royal we - must continue to post things that others don't see or read. Ha ha ha ha ha - no one reads anymore, what year do I think it is????

Anyway, we as a society live with our fucking heads in the clouds, or underwater, depending on who you are.

This shit is not new. The economic downturn could be seen six years ago. Us "crazies" were yelling about it then - these housing prices are not sustainable, there is no real money, where is our security for a future, etc...

My personal crazy has manifested itself in the way my family operates. I refused to give birth to a child that would be sent to school. No way was my kid going to be brainwashed with the rest of the masses.

Our commitment to living real started before we had kids.

To live in a modest home while others laughed at it, only now we are financially more viable than most any other home owner I know.

The other day I was ready to go off on how ignorant our fellow citizens are of the rest of the world's cultures. Just this weekend I watched a "news" report on the horrors of co-sleeping. "They" sited 316 deaths in 2005 from co-sleepers. Thank you CDC - the place the government uses to scare us all into some mouth foaming frenzy that is so not warranted.

Anyway, 316 deaths? How many babies were born that year? What is the %? AND - how many of those that died included parents who were either taking medication or drugs or alcohol??? That is the question really...

So, they barely mentioned that most every other culture uses co-sleeping and it is safe in their cultures.... hmmmm.. why didn't they elaborate on this? Maybe because it goes against our CONSUMERISM stance? You wouldn't need a crib or playpen (baby jails) or any of that other isolationism shit they serve up as "good for baby"....

And if you don't spend all that money on baby from the beginning, then you won't buy all that other crap that want to sell you as your kids get older.

I knew I would kind of suck at this blog thing, when I start to spew, it is difficult to stay on topic, there is a reason I try not to go all political in a common forum...

So, the reality is that Capitalism is the root of all evil. It exploits one of the seven deadly sins for you christians - greed. How do you reconcile pure greed/capitalism with Christianity anyway? No Christian has ever been able to answer that when asked, unless they try to use a different definition of Capitalism (the new school -manufacturing of money, not the old school Ayn Rand Virtues of Selfishness)...

more later, this is just a test! ha ha ha

  1. Silly treeworshipper... don't you know Jesus is coming to take us all up to heaven so it doesn't matter what we do to the earth (it's not really our home, you know) and to each other (absolution rocks) and to ourselves (oh the guilt). He's coming. Look busy.
